The Kesar Dry Fruit Motichoor Laddu is famous all over North India and is easy to be prepared at home. Irrespective of festivals, people love to eat this sweet. Here is the easy way to make Kesar Dry Fruit Motichoor Laddu, preserving the traditional taste as such.
- Gram flour : 1 cup
- Almonds : 1 teaspoon
- Pistachios : 1 teaspoon
- Saffron : a pinch and a few for garnishing
- Pure Ghee : 1 cup for frying
- Sugar : 1 cup
- Melon Seeds : 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda : a pinch
- Water : 1 cup
- A perforated plate or spoon (Boondhi Laddle)
- Frying pan
- 2 Bowls
- Sauce pan
- A big spoon (Laddle)
- A small spoon
- Two big plates
- Cup cake liner.
Step 1: Take the bowl and add gram flour, a pinch of saffron, a pinch of baking soda and mix well. Add water to the mix to make a thick batter similar to dosa batter. Whisk it properly to avoid lumps.
Step 2: Add the Ghee to the frying pan and bring it to boil.
Step 3: Take the perforated Spoon or plate and drop batter through it to oil.
Step 4: Do not deep fry, wait for less than a minute and remove the boondhis using a strainer and keep aside to remove excess ghee.
Step 5: In the sauce pan, add sugar and water to make the sugar syrup. The consistency of the sugar syrup is such that when taken a drop between your fingers, it forms an unbreakable string.
Step 6: Take the boondhi in another bowl and crush it with your hands a little bit.
Step 7: Add the sugar syrup into it and mix well so all the boondhi will be coated with sugar.
Step 8: Add the melon seeds, almonds (sliced) and pistachios (sliced) into the mixture. Mix well.
Step 9: Take a lemon-sized ball in your palm and shape it properly.
Step 10: Place Laddu one by one in each of the cup cake liners.
Step 11: Garnish with saffron on top.
